Harry Bertoia slatted bench
The Bertoia slatted bench is an elegant, sleek bench combining a welded metal frame with a seat made of solid wood slats. The design combines functional simplicity with visual lightness: the steel base supports the slats in an almost "floating" manner, typical of Bertoia's early exploration of material and form.
The bench has a low seat height of 39 cm and a relatively wide seat of 47 cm, which makes it suitable as a bench, footstool or decorative element in a living room, hallway or outdoor area. It was designed in the early 1950s. According to Knoll, this sofa was the first piece of furniture Bertoia designed for the brand and forms a link between his early experiments with materials and his later iconic wire chair designs.
This bench originally had white slats, but was in poor condition with some crackle. Restored to this version. Some scratches in the slats, but in very good condition.
